The Art of Explorers: Celebrating Human Endeavor

The campaign, titled “The Art of Explorers”, shifts its focus to the explorers themselves. Embracing the shared core value of human endeavor, both brands highlight the explorer as a symbol of their partnership. The campaign introduces AI-generated adventurers as well as unique mixed-media sculptures, representing the spirit of exploration. The tagline, “Where Originality Meets Extraordinary”, embodies Moncler’s history of performance and utility innovation and adidas Originals’ legacy as a cultural and creative champion, influencing cities worldwide.

A Collaborative Creative Journey

The collaboration, initially unveiled at London Fashion Week in February through “The Art of Genius” show, brought together artists from diverse fields. Sculptors like Gary Card, Ibby Njoya, and Kate Tabor collaborated with real-life explorers styled by Ai Kamoshita and adorned with makeup and accessories by Isamaya Ffrench. Photographer Hanna Moon brilliantly brought these visionary creations to life, blurring the lines between reality and imagination.

A Digital Experience Like No Other

The creative exploration extends beyond the physical world into the digital realm. Moncler.com introduces an immersive platform inspired by the collection’s summit-to-city design themes. This digital destination provides exclusive product access, presenting the collection’s details through a digital gallery reminiscent of vibrant metropolitan streets. Combining sound, video, and 3D animation, it immerses users in a city environment where exclusive products and 3D artworks gradually unfold. Notably, a limited-edition artistic exploration of the Moncler x adidas Originals NMD boot is available as an NFT accessible through the platform and the adidas Confirmed app.

The Collection: From Summit to City Streets

The collection, inspired by the journey from summit to city, features puffers, track jackets, and vests that blend the identities of both brands. Moncler’s iconic lacquered nylon designs incorporate adidas Originals’ adi-break paneling, resulting in a fusion of styles. Vibrant colors, reminiscent of traffic lights, shift between greens, oranges, reds, concrete-gray, sky blue, off-white, and organic dark greens. Quilting, jacquards, and prints take cues from patterns formed by skiers on snow-covered slopes.

Bold footwear choices include the Moncler-ized NMD boot with GORE-TEX and bubble padding and the iconic Campus sneaker cocooned in bubble padding. These designs embody the harmony between outdoor mountain life and urban streets, creating a new world for exploration.

The Moncler x adidas Originals collection will be available on moncler.com and adidas.com starting from October 4th, 2023, and in select Moncler and adidas stores from October 5th, 2023.

  • Gary Card, Sculptor and Set Designer: Known for his colorful and humorous approach to fashion, Gary Card created exaggerated human explorers for the collaboration, blending Moncler and adidas Originals’ iconic elements.
  • Ibby Njoya, Artist and Set Designer: Ibby Njoya, a British-Cameroonian artist, used his painting and illustration skills to craft explorers inspired by the collection, paying homage to neck rings from different tribes.
