A Continued Dialogue Between Art and Footwear
OTW by Vans and S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. reunite to expand their ongoing creative dialogue. Once again, Sterling Ruby applies his multidisciplinary approach to familiar Vans forms, treating footwear as both functional object and artistic surface. This drop leans into contrast, balancing restraint and bold expression while staying rooted in OTW’s focus on design innovation and elevated construction.
AUTHENTIC PRIMA Reimagines a Vans Icon
At the center of the collection sits the AUTHENTIC PRIMA, a new silhouette that reinterprets the legendary Authentic through a refined, modern lens. A rubber-capped square toe and low-profile stance reference archetypal sneakers, while full-grain leather uppers and Sola Foam ADV cushioning deliver contemporary comfort.
Its square-toe shape, smooth leather upper, and minimal lining create a refined aesthetic. Meanwhile, a cushioned insole and classic waffle outsole ensure everyday comfort. Co-branded leather footbeds subtly tie the design back to the collaboration.
Alongside it, a black-and-beige microcheck Authentic with reflective detailing adds a subtle graphic layer to the lineup.
Graphic-Driven Authentic Variations
Two additional Authentic executions highlight Sterling Ruby’s visual language. One features an all-over checkerboard pattern that flows from upper to foxing, creating a fully immersive graphic statement. The other arrives in a cyber yellow marbled treatment inspired by paper designs. As a result, it produces an optical illusion that wraps the entire shoe. Both pairs are finished with co-branded footbeds, custom laces, and Vans’ Vibram vulc outsole with tank tread, reinforcing durability and traction.
FUTURE CLOG and Experimental Utility
Completing the drop is the FUTURE CLOG, a hybrid concept that fuses a sculptural clog with a removable inner slipper. Designed to be worn together or separately, it reflects Ruby’s interest in duality and modular design. Thoughtful details, including breathable windows, EVA cushioning, and co-branded hardware, elevate an unconventional silhouette into a functional statement piece.
