Dime and Vans: A Decade of Collaboration
The partnership between Vans and Montreal’s Dime has become one of skateboarding’s most creative unions. What started with small projects grew into a defining relationship over the years. Their work blends playful storytelling with respect for skate culture, making each release unique.
Importantly, many of their projects align with the annual Dime Glory Challenge, a competition that mixes humor, spectacle, and pure skateboarding. For the event’s 10th anniversary, Vans and Dime introduced something special: a completely new silhouette.
Skate Era Stub: Design Evolution and Technology
The Skate Era Stub reimagines the classic Vans Era with bold updates. Most noticeable is the jump from five to eight lace loops, which creates a shorter and more compact “stubby” look. This change shifts the silhouette without losing its skate-ready feel.
In addition, the sneaker features Vans’ top skateboarding technology. SickStick™ rubber improves grip and board control, while PopCush™ insoles deliver comfort and energy return. To extend durability, Duracap™ overlays protect high-wear areas. Two clean colorways — white and tan with gum soles — highlight Dime’s minimalist style. They balance skate function with a streetwear edge.

The Vans x Dime Skate Era Stub dropped on August 30, 2025, during the Dime Glory Challenge in Montreal. The release was limited to Dime’s online store, the event itself, and select Vans Skateboarding VCU accounts worldwide.
