PUMA and Aries Unveil Bold New Collaboration
PUMA has teamed up with London-based streetwear label Aries for their first-ever collaboration blending PUMA’s sportswear heritage with Aries’ edgy, luxe aesthetic. Following a teaser at PUMA’s New York Fashion Week show in February 2024, the collection has officially launched, offering a striking mix of modern and nostalgic designs. Drawing inspiration from racing and kitschy styles, the genderless capsule features bold graphics, innovative knitwear, and revamped accessories, creating a dynamic and playful collection.
Bold Graphics and Experimental Pieces
Central to the collaboration are statement-making graphics and experimental textures. As a result, the collection includes standout pieces like the moto-mesh long sleeve tee adorned with Aries’ signature designs and a digitally printed knitted cardigan. The lace-knit tight tee, inspired by cycling, showcases a unique jacquard knit, while the oversized tee boldly features an airbrushed PUMA graphic. A highlight of the collection is the lightweight water-repellent jacket and pants, featuring a skeletal x-ray graphic that plays into the bold, kitsch-inspired look.
Footwear Revamped: Mostro and Suede
PUMA and Aries have also reimagined two iconic footwear silhouettes—the Mostro and the Suede. In detail, the Aries take on the Mostro, the star of the collaboration, incorporates neoprene, mesh, and suede, with an adjustable elastic closure at the back. The Suede, on the other hand, is enhanced with a rubberized mudguard and custom Aries graphics on the heel and tongue, adding a fresh twist to the classic sneaker.
A Dreamlike Campaign
Captured by New York photographer Mark Luckasavage, the PUMA x Aries campaign features dreamlike imagery that perfectly encapsulates the collection’s surreal, nostalgic vibe. Featuring portraits and candid shots, the visuals evoke the feeling of a distorted daydream, mirroring the creative and experimental nature of this groundbreaking collaboration.
