Nike Flyleather Collection Summer 21
Highlighting more creative applications through circular design is the summer 2021 Nike Flyleather collection, which includes an Air Force 1 and the Blazer Low in whimsical upper treatments from Tokyo-born artist Mayumi Yamase. The uppers, made with at least 50 percent recycled leather fibers, are characterized by quiet, muted bases of white underneath splashes of earthy pastels.
For Mayumi, the playful details are also inspired by a belief in community as a creative, dynamic variable in her projects.
“Community gives me a sense of comfort and fun in my daily life, but it also stretches my imagination and surprises me, leading to discoveries in my own artwork that challenge my expectations,” she says.
The Nike Air Force 1 Flyleather and the Nike Blazer Low Flyleather release beginning May 19 on SNKRS.
