The Nike Air Superfly returns with a sleek, low-profile update built for women who move through the world with purpose and edge.
A Classic Reborn for a New Generation
Nike is bringing back a cult favorite. The Nike Air Superfly returns 25 years after its original debut, now reimagined as a women’s sportswear sneaker with running roots and street-ready attitude. With a deconstructed shape and lightweight feel, this silhouette is built for all-day movement and bold, minimalist style.

The new Air Superfly began as a low-profile racing trainer. Now, it returns with updated performance features while staying true to its heritage. A reverse seam construction removes the need for a sock liner. This design hugs the foot, offering comfort and a flexible, stripped-down feel. Perforated panels on the sides reference the early-2000s Superfly. Meanwhile, subtle green dots on the outsole echo the track spike layout from the original design.

Design That Blends Sport and Street
The fall 2025 version debuts in a metallic silver colorway, tying into Nike’s broader launch of women’s styles like the Air Max Muse. According to Thomasin Hummerstone, Director of Women’s Sportswear Footwear, the shoe has a “chameleon-like quality” that makes it highly versatile:
“Depending on how you color and materialize it, [the Air Superfly] can take on so many different personalities.”
Inside, a Cushlon foam midsole and hidden Nike Air unit offer soft cushioning that blends performance and everyday comfort. Premium leather and synthetic suede add a lifestyle edge to this revived classic.

Women-First Footwear With Cultural Relevance
The reintroduction was led by Nike’s women’s team, with Ellen Lekas noting that the moment felt right:
“It offers an authentic Nike perspective that is progressive, accessible and wearable, striking a perfect balance that’s so right for women today.”
First previewed by Sha’Carri Richardson, the Air Superfly gained momentum during the SNKRS Showcase and is now featured in campaigns with stars like Rhasidat Adeleke and Casey Phair.
