The Doobie Skate Old Skool is more than a sneaker—it’s a tribute to a skate legend’s colorful journey, built for performance and storytelling.
A Skater’s Myth, Brought to Life
The Doobie Skate Old Skool Net isn’t your average Vans Skateboarding release. It’s a folklore-worthy tribute to Victor “Doobie” Pellegrin, a skater known as much for his style as for his unpredictability. Hailing from a small French village and now based in Helsinki, Doobie blends skateboarding with a love for fishing, and his new Vans colourway captures every quirky detail of that mix.

This updated Skate Old Skool goes far beyond the expected. Designed with performance and personality in mind, it includes a mesh stash pocket hidden in the tongue—a sly nod to skate culture’s cheeky roots. The hairy suede uppers are water-resistant, making them ideal for life on dry land or near the sea. Heavy-duty laces, 10oz canvas side panels, and an embroidered Sidestripe round out the rugged design.

Details That Tell a Story
Every part of this shoe has a tale. The custom footbed artwork comes courtesy of legendary artist Todd Francis, while the shoe’s overall durability makes it skate-ready and weather-resistant. Whether you’re on a board or a boat, the Doobie Skate Old Skool has you covered.
The campaign, shot in a quaint Cornish fishing town, adds to the myth. Directed by Jack Lammas and Ed Hubert, and produced by Control Tower Productions, the story unfolds like a fable. Doobie is joined by fellow skaters like Harry Lintell, Helena Long, Notis Aggelis, and others who bring the vision to life.

Release Info: Get Ready to Cast Off
