A Versatile Trail Runner Engineered for Every Surface
The new Nike ACG Pegasus Trail marks a strategic evolution of the Pegasus platform. It moves confidently from city pavement to gravel roads and technical trails. As a result, it delivers a stable and responsive ride across mixed terrain.
Engineered by Nike’s outdoor division, Nike ACG, the model balances comfort with durability. It retains the familiar Pegasus feel. However, it adds trail-specific refinements that enhance grip and protection.
“The Pegasus Trail is ACG’s best all-around shoe,” says Lauren Gregory, All Conditions Racing Department athlete and 2025 Golden Trail World Series Final champion. “It’s responsive and comfortable. I use it for everything in all conditions — from trails to gravel roads, pavement and a mix of all three.”
Trail-Tuned Cushioning, Grip and Protection
The Pegasus Trail was developed in close collaboration with Gregory and her fellow athletes. In addition, hundreds of everyday trail runners tested the shoe. Their feedback helped refine the fit, durability and long-run comfort.
Underfoot, a plush bed of ReactX foam delivers responsive energy return. At the same time, it maintains stability on uneven ground. The new Nike All Terrain Compound 2.0 outsole improves traction, especially in wet conditions. Therefore, runners gain more confidence on unpredictable surfaces.
An updated trail-specific last provides a wider toe box. It also creates more room in the footbed for extended efforts. Meanwhile, the engineered mesh upper is breathable and quick-draining. This helps runners stay cool and dry in changing weather. A reinforced rubber toe wrap adds durability and protects against debris.
Jade Horizon and the Expanding ACG Running Lineup
The Jade Horizon launch colorway reflects organic neutrals inspired by Oregon white oak and manzanita trees. These species are resilient and adaptable. Similarly, the Pegasus Trail is built to perform in shifting conditions.
“Building on the storied Pegasus foundation, we set out to create our most versatile trail shoe yet — ready for trail, gravel and road alike,” says Brenden McAleese, Director, ACG Footwear. “It’s our most capable and versatile workhorse to date, thanks to insights from our global testing network and the All Conditions Racing Department.”
Unveiled alongside the Nike Pegasus 42, the Pegasus Trail strengthens ACG’s performance focus. It joins a lineup that includes the ACG Ultrafly and the ACG Zegama. Together, these silhouettes reflect ACG’s renewed commitment to trail athletes worldwide.
