Originally introduced in 1993, ABZORB cushioning became a defining feature of New Balance’s running and lifestyle offerings. Now, that legacy evolves with bold design language and enhanced comfort.
ABZORB 2010: Classic Meets Innovation
The ABZORB 2010 introduces a futuristic take on familiar New Balance design language. Its standout segmented midsole features expanded ABZORB proportions, forming a bold base for the sneaker’s visual identity. Up top, a diamond-knit mesh upper is layered with nubuck and synthetic overlays, delivering depth and durability.
Details like the TPU Stability Web shank, reflective accents, and sculpted tooling highlight New Balance’s commitment to modern performance aesthetics. This model strikes a unique balance between archival cues and forward-facing style.

First unveiled during Milan Design Week, the ABZORB 2000 leans into digital-era innovation. Developed using 3D tools, it features a sculpted ABZORB sole unit that integrates ABZORB SBS pods for advanced comfort. The result is a silhouette that feels highly engineered and progressive.
A minimal mesh upper with printed overlays gives it a futuristic profile, while a Stability Web shank offers structure and support. Design Manager Charlotte Lee explains: “We wanted to amplify those iconic design cues, like the ABZORB SBS gel cushioning, but rework them through a contemporary lens. It’s that tension between the past and the present that really drives our design philosophy.”
