Drake’s Scorpion Breaks Streaming Records On Release

Drake
You know, you know it’s hot right now.

We already knew what expectations to have because of early released singles as “God’s plan”, “Nice For What” which were peaking at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100. Also “I’m Upset” which we know how the story went. Fans also knew it is going to blow all along. Been patiently waiting but here we have it :

Drake’s Scorpion Album Streaming cover

Damn a 90 minute album? You heard it here first.

The double album consists of a rap side and an R&B side which are the 2 genres known to be Drizzy’s preferable orientations in music. On the Rap side (A Side on the album) Drake flexes his abilities as a rapper and being inside the business. He mostly makes references to being “The Drake that wants and has to prove something, the man that shows everything he is up to. Or everything that occurred in the past tense” without remorse. Drake expresses his emotions on the fact that no matter the amount of hatred and dissing he recieves, he is still on top. And he is still living the sweeter parts of his life. His intentions are pure, can’t nobody tell him to relax. After all, he put his city (Toronto) on the map with all his hardwork and his crew. He is equipped with his rap voice and we can tell he is ready to send fire shots at haters and mans going against him from his song entitled “Nonstop” :

“I’m a bar spitta, I’m a hard hitta / Yeah I’m light skinned, but I’m still a dark nigga / I’m a wig splitta, I’m a tall figure / I’m a unforgivin’ wild-ass dog nigga / I’m a bill printer, I’m a grave digger / Yeah, I am what I am / I don’t have no time for no misunderstandings again”.

More & more

On the RnB side (B Side of the album) mans ready to pour out his feelings on women, relationships, and love. Some people say this is his soft side, and it’s true but I think girls deserve some love and a big up. Drake adresses more personal information in these topics. After all, he is the man in the music game, but apart from that there’s that real life stuff going on. But as he expresses these feelings, unobtrusively his lifestyle gets in the way. It is an obstacle for some temporary persons going in and out his life. On the B Side we can also notice the good bits of living the life and being with that someone but the uncertainty is present in the question ” How long it is going to last?”. The conclusion is though is that nothing is ever perfectly straight edged, and some people get envious and want to get revenge. We can see these facts in the song entitled “Jaded” :

” Already gave you what you needed, I guess / That’s why I’m not with nobody / ‘Cause I don’t wanna hurt nobody / Did it over text, didn’t call me / Still got love for you, mami / I know you wanna be somebody / Even if you gotta leave somebody.”

This album contains samples from Lauryn Hill’s “Ex Factor”, Nicki Minaj’ “Boss ass bitch” and Mariah Carey “Emotions”. Behind the production of SCORPION are his two pals Noah “40” Shebib and Oliver El-Khatib (both executive producers).

And the list goes on

Mentioning that Boi1da is also featured along with Murda Beatz, Dj Premier and PARTYNEXTDOOR on the producing side. But the list goes on with many more talented people behind it all. After all, the album is a double sided. Features guest appearances from Jay-Z and Ty Dolla Sign, as well as vocals from Michael Jackson and additional vocals by a variety of artists, including Future, Nicki Minaj and PARTYNEXTDOOR.  Drake was ready for this album. We were ready for it too.

Do you prefer the Rap-oriented side or the RnB-oriented side?

Oh, he also left a note for all the haters. Best editor note on a rap album?
