The Vans x Life Is Unfair collaboration returns with a collector-driven drop that blends premium materials, playful presentation, and deep-rooted heritage storytelling.

• Collector-focused details inspired by Vans archives
• Neon pink toy-box packaging and custom co-branded elements
• Pre-release at a London launch event, followed by global release on December 9
Loving Is Living as a design philosophy
With this new chapter, Vans continues its on-going partnership with London-based label Life Is Unfair. The collaboration builds on shared values of friendship, craft, and emotional connection. Titled Loving Is Living, the release feels personal and intentional. It explores the idea that objects can carry memory and meaning when designed with care. As a result, the neon pink toy-box packaging transforms each pair into a collectible rather than a standard seasonal release.

Archival references for true Vans devotees
This collaboration speaks directly to archival Vans enthusiasts through carefully placed “easter-egg” details. For example, the collection includes 1:1 replicas of early-2000s shoe-tag stickers. Additionally, elements pulled from 90s-era Vans shoebox artwork appear throughout. There is also a return to the original heel-label placement on the heritage Mary Jane silhouette. These references remain subtle. However, they are precise and rewarding for those who know the brand’s history.

Craft, collaborators, and premium execution
Beyond the archival nods, craft plays a central role in this release. A custom stud-print sockliner was developed with London leather-crafting duo Ethan Toy and Coco Wohrle. This detail adds texture and narrative beneath the foot. Meanwhile, window-box artwork features independent designer and CSM graduate Meg Wells. Together, these elements reinforce the project’s connection to emerging creative talent. Finally, custom co-branded engraved heel studs complete the premium execution.

The three Premium LX silhouettes
The footwear lineup includes three Premium LX styles. These are the Zebra Authentic 44 LX, the Marshmallow Half Cab 33 LX, and a black Mary Jane WS LX. The restrained color palette allows the pony hair materials to stand out. As a result, the detailing takes center stage. Ultimately, the collection feels wearable while remaining display-worthy.

Dance Demons and the launch experience
To celebrate the launch, Vans and Life Is Unfair introduce Dance Demons. It is a one-night-only video game arcade event taking place on Saturday, December 6. The space brings together classic arcade titles, pool tables, hot dogs, and live music. Additionally, DJ sets from S.O.H.R and East London heavy metal record store Crypt of the Wizard set the tone. The night closes with a performance from London screamo project I’m Sorry Emil, turning the launch into a shared cultural moment.

Release information
The collection will pre-release at the Dance Demons event. It will then launch globally on December 9. The drop will be available via mylifeisunfair.com, vans.com, Vans London West End, Vans Le Marais, and select retailers worldwide.
