SZA Joins Vans in a groundbreaking move that unites one of today’s most influential artists with an iconic sneaker brand. This new chapter will see her step into the role of Artistic Director, bringing fresh vision and creativity to Vans through campaigns and exclusive product collections.

SZA: An Artist Redefining Culture

Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter SZA built her career on authenticity, self-expression, and fearless artistry. Her albums Ctrl and SOS broke records and earned billions of streams. She also co-headlined a history-making tour with Kendrick Lamar, solidifying her place as a defining voice of her generation. Beyond music, SZA pushes boundaries in fashion and culture. This fearless creativity makes her a natural fit for her new role with Vans.

A Shared Mission with Vans

As Artistic Director, SZA will collaborate with Vans to reimagine campaigns and co-create collections rooted in individuality and community. Speaking about the partnership, she explained:

“In Vans, I feel free! I’ve been wearing Knu Skools and other styles for years, they’ve always had an ethos I connect with. As Artistic Director, my mission is to show that joy, community, creativity, and fashion are all still intersectional.”

Her words reflect Vans’ “Off the Wall” spirit and highlight a mission to keep fashion inclusive, joyful, and connected to culture.

The Debut Campaign: Becoming Off the Wall

The first campaign introduces a dreamy brand anthem directed by Sophie Jones and styled by Alejandra Hernandez. It celebrates vulnerability, art, and individuality while spotlighting the Vans Knu Skool in Black/White—one of SZA’s go-to styles. The Knu Skool first appeared in 1997 as a bold reimagining of the Old Skool™. It features chunky laces, puffed tongues, and a 3D Sidestripe. These details give the sneaker a fresh look while staying true to Vans’ skate-inspired roots.

The Vans Knu Skool in Black/White is available now through select Vans stores and Vans.com. This release marks the start of SZA’s multi-year journey with Vans, a partnership that promises to merge music, fashion, and culture in bold new ways.
