The Story Behind the Vault by Vans x Gallery Dept. OG Old Skool LX

If you are a fan of vintage clothing and art, you will love the latest collaboration between Vault by Vans and Gallery Dept. The two brands have teamed up to create a unique version of the OG Old Skool LX. The sneaker draws inspiration from punk show flyers and Josué Thomas’ personal collage titled “Good Luck”. Here’s everything you need to know about this exciting release.

Josué Thomas founded the Gallery Dept. back in 2017 in Los Angeles. Josué has a passion for vintage clothing and art, and he uses them to create products that are compelling, high-quality, and artistically authentic. He re-purposes and re-imagines old garments, giving them a new life and meaning.

Vault by Vans is a premium line of Vans footwear that celebrates the brand’s heritage and innovation. Vault by Vans collaborates with influential artists and designers to create limited-edition collections that showcase the best of Van’s style and culture.

The OG Old Skool LX

The Vault by Vans x Gallery Dept. OG Old Skool LX is a result of Josué’s nostalgic memories of wearing Vans and his artistic vision. He created a fine art print made of magazine clippings called “Good Luck”, which reflects his views on today’s society. He then partnered with Vans to transform the print into a striking design for the Old Skool silhouette.

The shoe features a canvas upper with the “Good Luck” print all over, contrasted by black suede overlays on the toe box, eyelets, heel, and tongue. The signature Vans side stripe is also black, while the laces are white. The shoe is completed by a white midsole with black piping and a red rubber outsole.
