Sneakerness Athens: A Three-day Celebration Of Sneaker Culture
The Sneakerness Athens festival is set to debut from October 11 to 13, 2024, at the historic Old O.S.Y. Amaxostasio in Gazi. As Europe’s premier sneaker festival, it promises an unforgettable three-day experience for sneaker enthusiasts and street culture lovers. Attendees will explore over 4,000 square meters filled with unique events that celebrate the authentic culture of sneakers.
This festival serves as a global platform for sneaker and streetwear culture, bringing together fans to share their passion. Moreover, it has been celebrated for over a decade in major European cities, including Zurich, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, and Milan.
Brand Activations and Marketplace
The festival will showcase an impressive range of brands and activations. Attendees can look forward to the Converse Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Collection, highlighting the latest designs from the Canadian NBA superstar. Furthermore, the legendary Gramps family, known as dedicated international collectors and style icons, will showcase their brand, from which you can discover iconic pieces. That Gorilla Brand will present KishKash, a world-renowned sneaker expert from London, who will take to the decks for a unique DJ set, further enhancing the festival’s vibrant atmosphere. Moreover, the Drip Athens sneaker store will be on-site, featuring a barber shop for those wanting to freshen up their look. The Marketplace will include offerings from 30 Greek streetwear brands, providing a unique opportunity for attendees to discover new trends and styles. Additionally, Crep Protect will offer sneaker cleaning services along with fun activations like Crop Or Flop and the Sneaker Olympics.
Workshops and Interactive Sessions
Sneakerness Athens offers an array of workshops and interactive experiences for participants. For example, attendees can witness Custom Bespoke Shoe Design sessions conducted by the SneakerSchool from the Netherlands. This interactive experience will allow sneaker lovers to see how unique designs come to life. At the same time, a customization workshop hosted by street artist Yiakou will allow attendees to personalize their favorite Lacoste hats and sneakers. Additionally, the Follow The Waack team and GET AP Studio will lead dance challenges and workshops at The Athlete’s Foot Creative Lounge, keeping creativity and movement central to the festival.
Music Performances
The festival will feature an exciting lineup of live performances from popular hip-hop and rap artists. Acts such as Hatemost, 12Pithikos, Mikros Kleftis, Half Quickie, Ladele, and Nume are set to energize the crowd. In addition, Ellize will perform in collaboration with Sneaker 10 and adidas, ensuring a vibrant musical atmosphere throughout the event. Throughout the festival, attendees can enjoy DJ sets from Black Athena, presented by FUEL store, creating a lively backdrop.
Competitions and Challenges
Exciting competitions are set to take place, including Sneaker Battles and Drops organized by OG Market, Sneakerdom, and Fotis Kouroupis. The festival will also feature a Treasure Hunt hosted by Sprite, along with a Pacman Tournament by MyArcade for some interactive fun. Basketball fans can showcase their skills at the 3X3 Tournament organized by DEI at the Sneakerness Basketball Court. Additionally, skate challenges will be provided by the Ministry of Concrete, offering a space for skateboarding enthusiasts to showcase their skills. Moreover, there will be an auction for 10 exclusive items from the Sneakerness Marketplace, allowing participants to bid on rare sneaker memorabilia.
Food and Refreshments
The Food Court will offer a variety of delicious options, including cocktails, mocktails, burgers, hotdogs, fried chicken, and Belgian fries. For a unique twist, Espolon tequila will serve refreshing Palomas while also offering braids and tattoos at a specially designed station. Additionally, beer lovers can enjoy Mythos at the bars, providing a relaxed atmosphere for attendees to unwind. Energy drink enthusiasts can also fuel their excitement with various offerings from Monster.
