The Inspiration

The name of the collaboration comes from a French expression that means “Keep the spirits up”. Ceizer explains that he chose this phrase because the peach is not just a fruit, but a symbol of positivity and happiness. The sneaker features a peachy color palette of light orange, yellow and off-white, with green and red accents that add some contrast and energy. The design is inspired by Ceizer’s signature style of typography art, which combines playful shapes and letters to create dynamic and uplifting compositions.

The Details

The sneaker has embroideries of “Garde la Pêche”, “Ceizer” and “Mizuno” on the tongue and heel, as well as a printed illustration of a “Garde la Pêche” Woody on the insole. The Woody is one of Ceizer’s recurring characters and sculptures, which he describes as “a happy guy who loves life”. The sneaker also uses premium materials such as suede and textured leather for the overlay, and OG materials for the laces and lining, which are taken from the Mizuno archives.

Caizers’ collaboration with Mizuno

The “Garde la Pêche” Contender is the second collaboration between Mizuno and Ceizer. It follows their successful debut in 2020 with the Amsterdam-themed Sky Medal. The Contender is a retro running model from the 90s. Mizuno has revived the sneaker as part of their Heritage line. The sneaker combines a classic silhouette with modern comfort and performance.
